Working alongside social organisations committed to building a more inclusive society reminds us of the true value of solidarity. This was the case with ANPEHI, a non-profit association specialising in the field of disability, with whom we had the opportunity to collaborate during the previous academic year.

Since its foundation, ANPEHI has developed its work around a firmly inclusive approach, promoting programmes designed to improve the functionality, autonomy and quality of life of people with disabilities. Its work is especially centred on sport as a tool for personal development and social inclusion, with a particular focus on adapted Nihon Tai-Jitsu and therapeutic horse riding.

Through its programmes, the association aims to encourage the active participation of people with disabilities across different areas of everyday life, creating a meaningful impact on daily activities while contributing to greater independence and wellbeing. ANPEHI operates across the province, delivering classes in Jerez and throughout the Sierra de Cádiz.

Thanks to the solidarity contributions received, one of the most significant initiatives made possible was the participation of a person with a disability in the Camino de Santiago, ensuring access to this experience under equal conditions.

People with disabilities often face greater barriers when it comes to inclusive leisure opportunities and the enjoyment of natural environments. However, through this programme, it was possible to provide a fully accessible experience, allowing the beneficiary to complete the route and reach the iconic Praza do Obradoiro, supported throughout by an inclusive group and assistance team.

The entire experience was fully funded for the beneficiary, making real not only the right to leisure, but also the right to social participation and to enjoying the natural environment. Beyond the physical challenge itself, this initiative represented an experience of achievement, connection and belonging, reinforcing the importance of continuing to support projects that remove barriers and create genuine opportunities.

Collaborations like this remind us that every act of solidarity can be transformed into deeply meaningful experiences. When inclusion becomes a shared priority, its impact reaches far beyond what we might imagine.
