EDUCATION

Early Years / 2-6 years

AN ENRICHING BEGINNING

We offer an English immersion environment where children learn through play, exploration, inquiry, and meaningful connections with the natural world. Our Natural Curiosity approach encourages children to wonder, investigate, and discover through hands-on experiences that nurture confidence, independence, and strong social, emotional, and communication skills from their very first day.

HOW DO CHILDREN LEARN?

Children learn through child-led inquiry, open-ended exploration and experiences both inside and outside the classroom. We encourage children to ask questions, think critically, collaborate, and develop a lifelong love of learning through meaningful engagement with their environment. Daily English immersion supports natural language acquisition while fostering creativity, problem-solving, resilience, and confidence.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF LEARNING ENGLISH?

Continued exposure to English helps children strengthen their reading, writing, and math skills, laying a solid foundation for their academic and personal success.

“Since starting at Sage College, Inés has made tremendous progress, gained confidence, and enjoys every day in an environment full of values and diversity.”

Early Years facilities

A place to grow

In Early Years, we provide spacious, thoughtfully designed classrooms where children have the room they need to learn, explore and grow in a way that is natural, nurturing and appropriate to their stage of development.

Our learning environments are carefully adapted to support each child’s emotional, social and cognitive development, encouraging curiosity, independence and confidence from the very beginning.

We also offer personalised outdoor spaces created especially for our youngest learners, where they can play, discover and develop their imagination and creativity in a safe, stimulating and age-appropriate setting. Through both indoor and outdoor experiences, children are given the opportunity to learn through play, movement, exploration and meaningful interaction.

Every space in Early Years is designed with purpose, helping children feel secure, inspired and excited to learn each day while developing the key skills that will support them throughout their educational journey.

Natural Curiosity method

Welcome to the Journey

We are passionate about Early Years, inspiring our little ones to be the thinkers & doers’ of the future. We have embarked on an incredible new approach which inspires children through curiosity, awe and wonder. Through this approach, children learn through the use of authentic resources, recycled materials and loose parts. We are looking to create amazing play spaces for children, where they have the opportunity to become inquisitive capable learners.

NATURAL CURIOSITY is an ethos/approach which focuses on and celebrates magical moments in early years, providing passion, and the invitations to learning, which will promote Curiosity, Imagination, and Awe & Wonder for children. It’s exciting news and we hope you will join us on this incredible journey.

Primary / 6-11 years

ENGLISH LEARNING AND INTEGRAL GROWTH

Primary students (from Years 1 to 6) develop a solid academic and personal foundation in an English immersion environment. Students are taught by a native British teacher in key subjects such as English, Math, Science, Topic, Art, IT, and PSHE. They also receive specialised tuition in Physical Education, Music, Drama, and French or German.

HOW IS SPANISH INTEGRATED?

In accordance with the law, students receive a daily Spanish class (Language and Literature) and weekly Spanish Culture classes. New students in Spanish take Spanish as a Foreign Language classes.

EVALUATION AND CERTIFICATION

At the end of Key Stage 2 (Y3 to Y6), Year 6 students prepare for the internally assessed Examinations, ensuring their academic progress in English.

Dual Education

OPENING THE DOORS TO THE WORLD

At Sage College, Spanish subjects are integrated into British education, offering a truly bicultural educational experience. The Spanish Department plays a key role at all levels, from Primary to Secondary.

Our students take British subjects, just like any English school worldwide, in addition to a selection of Spanish subjects required by a foreign school in Spain. This approach gives our institution a unique bicultural identity in the heart of Cádiz.

  • In Primary School, the subjects of Spanish Language and Literature and Spanish Culture are included.
  • In Secondary School, Spanish Language and Literature are studied along with Geography and History.
  • In addition, a selection of Spanish Baccalaureate subjects is offered, from which students choose and study two according to their preferences and academic objectives (PCE).

This educational model, which combines the British curriculum with Spanish subjects, offers our students a unique advantage: they can obtain both a British qualification and the Spanish ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) and Bachillerato, resulting in a double degree. Upon completion of their studies at Sage College, students can choose from public or private universities in Spain, the United Kingdom, or anywhere in the world.

“My son has made so much progress since Year 1. Watching him learn English and feel confident is fantastic. Sage College offers a unique and enriching education.”
